Dawn Richard Banishes The Light

Blackheart, album, Dawn Richard, Music

Left-hook and donkey punch enthusiast, Dawn Richard, has unleashed some pretty awesome news today. The Goldenheart singer has unveiled the cover art to her upcoming LP Blackheart, which is set to hit shelves on January 19th, 2015. Along with this little nugget, she released the lead single, “Blow”, and corresponding video. Looks like things are gonna get a bit gritty, you better take me there Ms. Richard.

Come awn Dawn, let’s get natural! *death drop*. The visual is actually quite stunning, and very much Dawn, which is perfect. Tons of dancing, vagazzled costumes, and natural backdrops. This bitch is causing natural disasters of the volcanic variety, and nobody’s pussies or weaves are safe from the fire.

I am loving the vampire inspired grill and where can a bitch get that Native American headdress complete with Rapunzel weave?! She is serving Aaliyah Queen of the Damned realness and I am eating it up. “I know they want us to let it go/ we about bloooow”, she coos against the tribal production. It is 4 minutes and 45 seconds of party.

The song itself is a continuation of what we have heard from Goldenheart, which is all that one could hope for. That album was great, and basically ahead of its time. “Tug of War”, “Return of a Queen”, “Northern Lights”, and “Pretty Wicked Things” are the obvious standouts, but pretty much every song from the record is stellar.

Dawn is the star of Danity Kane, so Aubrey, you can go shave your back now. Blow your tops (literally) below:
