Things are really starting to get ugly regarding the Kesha (formerly Ke$ha) and Dr. Luke lawsuit. Kesha is suing Dr. Luke over allegations of sexual assault and battery, and Dr. Luke is countersuing over claims of extortion.

If you remember, this debacle started back in September of last year with this petition a fan started. It was being claimed that Kesha was suffering at the hands of her “keeper”, not being able to express any creative freedom or release the music that she wanted fans to hear. This claim is nothing outlandish in the music world, artists are constantly having issues with their labels over similar disputes. Contracts usually need to be fulfilled before an artist can depart from a label, and their releases get postponed, scrapped, or barely promoted when they do not conform to the labels wishes; it’s pretty fucked-up because all fans want is new music… Anyway, two days ago news broke that Kesha was in fact suing Dr. Luke, but the allegations were much darker than previously thought…

Kesha entered rehab for an eating disorder (shortly after the “Timber” video came out, where she looked fucking amazing) back in January of this year. I, for one, was surprised because she seemed extremely healthy. She had lost weight, but didn’t look all corpsey and shit. She completed her stay, felt better, and got back in the studio. Now, there is this… All a bit fishy if you ask me.

Luke’s team is now trying to use Kesha’s stint in rehab, her antics on her reality show, and her mom dressing as a penis (which is fucking hilarious, not weird) as grounds to attack the claims and render them as ridiculousness. It seems as though the Luke camp is exhibiting classic psychological projection, and whenever I see character attacks being made by an accused party, I automatically assume that they are indeed guilty. Kesha was a partier, and she certainly loves her Jack Daniels, but she has never been a public mess. This is all truly unfortunate, especially for Kesha. I hope it gets resolved and that the shots fired will be kept to a minimum. It really sounds as if Kesha did in fact suffer. Why couldn’t it have been Katy Perry?!

Also, exactly what kind of doctor is Luke, and where did he get his degree(s)? He is clearly in violation of his Hippocratic oath…
